ABOUT US

It all starts with a dream. A dream of a new kitchen, or an update to that old bathroom, or a solution to that living space you have no idea what to do with.

And, that is what brought us to forming Cabinets by Amy & Lauren. We both shared a common dream of creating the perfect design firm. One that would take the dreams of our clients and make them a reality. One that would help clients through the renovation process, by bridging the gap between the contractor and the homeowners, making it a seamless, painless process.

As homemakers and working mothers we have had to make our living spaces – and our lives -- work as efficiently as possible. We understand that aesthetics is nothing without function and that you don’t need one more hassle added to your life.

We realize you can’t do it all alone. Let us do it for you.

  • Amy Inman

Amy knew from grade school that she wanted to be a designer. “I just didn’t know exactly what that meant. I would go to open houses with my mother and come home and sketch how I thought certain rooms would work better. Of course, at 12 I didn’t know you could do that for a living.”

After graduating from St. John’s University with a degree in Literature – Amy thought she might follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a teacher – she realized this wasn’t her dream. So she enrolled at The Art Institute of Philadelphia where she earned her AST in Interior Design.

After working for several kitchen and bath design firms for more than a dozen years, while also operating her own Interior Design business, she realized that no one could make her dream for the perfect design firm come true but herself.

Amy’s work has earned her Crystal Cabinets’ 1st place Bathroom Award and 3rd Place Kitchen Award. Her work has been featured in the brochure for Crystal Cabinets. She is a member of Women in Business Alliance, American Society of Interior Designers and the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

A lifelong resident of Mercer County, Amy, her husband and two children continue to make this county their home.

  • Lauren Baldwin

Lauren knew she wanted to be an interior designer since high school when she took an interior design course while working part time in Home Depot as a cashier. The management there decided to take a shot on this young aspiring designer and transferred her into their Kitchen & Bath Department – and the rest, as Lauren says, “is history”.

Following her dream, Lauren graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from The Art Institute of Philadelphia.

Lauren, her husband, and three children reside in Buck’s County, Pennsylvania.

Now, after more than a dozen years, both women have joined together to bring their expertise as interior designers, their background working for kitchen and bath design firms and their everyday experience as homemakers and working mothers to form Cabinets by Amy & Lauren. What they have done is finally realize that dream of the perfect design firm, one that will make your dream for your room, your home, a beautiful reality.
